This isn’t an ordinary choreography competition! With ChoreoMagic it's time to set yourself free, embark on a magical journey of creativity, storytelling and choreography!  The premise is simple, create a piece of choreography with any Disney theme or open them, be it a story, movie, song or show new or old. Incorporate your Scottish Highland Dance skills plus any other Dance genres and make the piece your own.

With ChoreoMagic, YOU are the imagineers, it’s your chance to show the audience how creative you can be!  As you stand ready to perform, imagine you’re in the West End or Broadway, take your story and choreography to the next level with costumes and props and make the audience BELIEVE!  ChoreoMagic is familiar and loved by so many who have participated and watched over the years and is the most unique Choreography competition in the world of Scottish Highland Dancing!

• The ChoreoMagic Competition it is open to everyone, to all Scottish Highland Dancers throughout the world whatever age or experience or standard they are.
• The ChoreoMagic Competition has its own set of rules and judging criterion.
• Trophies and Medals will be awarded for all categories for Dancers placed 1st to 6th for Solos and Duos and 1st to 3rd for Group entries
• The competition judges will be from the world of modern Choreography, many with experience of working for Walt Disney Company.
• Each individual dancer can compete in as many as 8 categories so opportunities to dance are endless

Of course, we want you to incorporate your Scottish Highland Dance skills, but in ChoreoMagic this isn’t the main focus, it’s time to wow the audience with your story telling skills. Focus on how you combine your Scottish Highland Dance skills with the story, not the technical aspects of the steps themselves. It gives you the opportunity to incorporate other styles of dance to help you in your storytelling. Focus on the music you are dancing to and how your choreography flows to its narrative, rather than just performing Scottish Highland Dance steps to a Disney or Open song. Focus on how you use your costumes to portray the characters to help illustrate your storytelling to the audience. Most importantly focus on storytelling, at the heart of every film, song or show is the magic of a story… this is your chance to become the storyteller!
